I'd like to get some serious opinions & feedback here in regards to what YOU personally believe the reasons were that Canarsie changed so quickly, and what were the causes.
My personal opinion is as follows:
The presence of the Breuklyn Projects was a huge monkey wrench that the city of NY placed in Canarsie in the 1960's. This then led to everyone north of Ave J, between Rkwy Pkwy & East 108th Street running for their lives in the 1980's when the real estate offices like Fillmore & Price illegally blockbusted the neighborhood, telling everyone via phone calls that the "blacks" were moving in, to hurry up and sell before it's too late. I was there. I got the phone calls.
I blame the real estate greedy bastards for what happened to Canarsie, who used fear & manipulation to force people to sell.

I am looking for old freinds that lived near seaview park, or any of you who remember me. I am Sean Morris, My father is Richard, my mother is Maria, My sister is Kelly we all had brown hair. I lived in the same house as my aunt and uncle, Viola and Dennis, their childern, my cousins were Nick and Katie, who have bright red hair (except dennis, he had brown, they all shared my last name). We lived on east 92nd street, in the beige house, with the awning, many of use used to hang out on the porch.
Anyone remember Peaches, that monster dog who used to bark on the terrace right next to my old house?
A girl also lived next door to me, her name, was i think brittany, i dont remember how old she was, but brittany, if youre out there, contact me.

I graduated from P.S. 115 in 94', atleast I think it was in 94'. My teachers, in order were Mrs. Schwartz, Miss Heiman/Mrs.Chasworth, Mrs. Kaplan, Mrs. Glickman, Mrs. Burman, Mrs. Catapano. The librarian was Mrs. Thomas, Mr. Gerber did gym and glee club. Mrs. Gold was art, some strange heavy lady with glasses taught spanish, . Principals.... hmm.. In kindergarden was Mr. Soltano I think, then there was a vice who left in 3rd grade with a bald head, I forgot his name, oh wait, Saluga, and the new principal was I know what he looks like his name started with an M, was it Mandella? and then came, well, I couldnt stand this guy, Barenhoff who made the third graders sit in the gym for the rest of the year instead of letting us in the schoolyard with the fourth and fifth graders. I was there when some kid pulled the fire alarm in 3rd grade and scared the hell out of everybody, I put on the Velveteen Rabbit, oh, wait, in kindergarden Mrs. Weinstein did music, she had fiery red hair, dont remember who it was after that.
