Aria is a true friend to me, and she always will be, she thought. She turns back to Karn and watches the rock skip farther than she had ever thrown a rock. She listens to his few words intently, then answers,

I wanted to be a Light because, well, I love life and I value friendship. I desire not to kill or to dominate. I am not a Dark because I'm not as strong as you are. I, as a Light, could not handle all the violence as a Dark. I am not strong as a person. I flutter from group to group; I'm a social butterfly. When I find a loyal friend, I stay with that friend to the very end. Me, Drizzling Rain, I am not a Dark, and I never will be. To me, love and friendship always carry through and get me through hard times. You have different morals than I, and I respect that. You are sad but resist tears, but I shed tears almost willingly. I embrace life, you embrace death. Neither one of us are bad or good. We just have different outlooks on things. I don't dislike Darks, I respect them. And I hope you respect Lights.

She rubs her lips together as a sign of her finished speech. She sits closer to Karn, receiving vibes of his unhappiness.

What's wrong? You can tell me, can't you?

She touches his hand gently, willing to help him through his inner conflict.**
