"Dinner's ready? Fuck! I was thinking to take you guys out for dinner,”Ah Chuen said loudly when he just stepped inside our home.
Siu Mui took a glance at him and then went straight to the kitchen, without saying a word.
"Hey, Driver! How's Canada? Are there any opportunities to make money over there? I heard it's a shitty place for doing business,”Ah Chuen handed me a cigarette and asked.
I'd only met Ah Chuen for two or three times before. He's about 4 or 5 years younger than me. Before setting up his garment factory, he had been worked as carpenter in DG City for almost 15 years. Though I didn’t like his attitude that much, I could predict an ambitious and resourceful man like him was going to make it someday.
"You're quite right. It's so hard to make a fortune in Canada. You are lucky if you could get a job over there. But the standard of living is…,”I tried to finish the sentence.
"I don't know a fucking thing about economics and I don't know what Canada looks like, but I am fucking sure the only country where you can make big buck is right here in Mainland China. I am not educated but I..,”he said.
"Shut your fucking mouth up! Eat, the food is getting cold,”Siu Mui came back to the table and ordered.
Ah Chuen didn't stop talking about his business during the whole dinner.
"Driver, I know you've been educated and you're a good person. Would you like to invest in my factory? We'll be good partners. I guarantee you'll make lots of money in two or three years,”he suggested before leaving our home.
"Lo Kung, I think you should give it a try. Working for someone else will not make you rich. Have you ever thought about that?”Maggie said when we're taking the shower.
The only thing I could think of at that moment was to have sex with her.
"Lo Kung, you know what? I just ran into Jodie the other day. She told me she'd go back to her hometown very soon. This time is for good. You know how much has she made since she came here? RMB 300,000! She made so much money in just two years!”she said after finished making love.
"Do you really believe that? Has she ever shown you the bank book?”I laughed.
I made a mental calculation of how many people Jodie had slept with in order to earn that kind of money in two years.
"I would have made that kind of money if not for you. Don't you know that?”she said, regretfully.
What was I supposed to do when Maggie said things like that?
Might as well go fuck Jodie one more time before she's gone, I said to myself.
