Now, you can lecture to me about keeping my emotions in check - especially when it comes to fiction. But chances are I will ignore such lectures, since I dislike people dictating how I should respond to anything. Are we clear?

Ah, well these were hardly "lectures" but you should probably listen to them anyway. If you aren't going to listen, then why would one listen to you?

Without even reading Ms. Wilcox's book, I'm willing to accept that there is a counterargument to be made. If I weren't so lazy, perhaps I'd have made that argument myself. But this response mostly devolves into a rant and leaves little room for dialog.

Now if you just wanted to vent, then you've done that. If you'd wanted a discussion, well, this is not the way to begin...
