Would buffy and angel give it a go if they weren't being told what to do by the creators of the script, if they had a real life outside the text?

I think that perhaps they would give it a go, try to be in love again. but i think it would fail as the mythic, idealised versions that they have both constructed of the other would fail dismally when it came to real, everyday life.
