Thank you Sophist.

Let me say, personally - emotionally, the very best, hands down, episode from seasons 7 and much of season 6 was "Beneath You".

I haven't heard much posted about this ep on the Board, maybe because everyone is as dull as I am and can't get the name right, but I thought the directing and acting were very good and Mr. Marsters really leaves it on the field. I thought he shone above SMG in this one and it is one of the few later episodes that made me feel like I had just watched a truly epic BTVS episode.

Mr. Marsters, during the DVD segments, has always seemed like a grounded guy that really understood the team concept and that team included the viewer. Who knows if this is true but I raise a glass to the newest guy on the block who grew into a role, made it his own and brought intensity everytime on screen.

One other thing regarding SMG, ASH and the whole gang. In season 2 there is one of my favorite moments. Giles has just been rescued by Buffy after he tried to take on Angelus for killing Jenny. Its outside the building and the two of them are on or nearly on the ground. Just before the cut to go to commercial she screams (something like)"You can't leave me I can't do this without you!" Soon after - they cut way too soon. Man, that was a great great scene that could've held there for a few more seconds. I am sure you all are familiar with it. I thought for the physicallity and emotion of that scene alone should have brought some attention to this show and these actors. Look I am not part of the actor appreciation club, hell sometimes I think they are clueless and have a dimwitted lack of appreciation for the role that society has extended to them, but that moment was great and bravo to the whole Buffy team whereever you are.
