More than surprised that she was asked to continue moving, the dappled gray obliged. Her floating gait followed the jockey prissily around the track, the lathered sweat lining her shoulders beginning to cake. Even in her new-found freedom, the filly's ground manners never failed her. She kept easy time with Catrina beside her, never once stepping ahead or lagging. She offered her muzzle in a tender nudging to the quiet hands rubbing her shoulder. A whinny rumbled from her throat as a deep bay passed, her greeting echoing behind the other Thoroughbred.
