Subject: Don't be sad Alanna!!

Ok so although it is a mere 12:45 I was trying to sleep so I could be all bright eyed for my fun filled day of work/school/homework tomorrow but I can't sleep so since I am guessing that this is when anyone else, namely Alanna, checks this thing, and to prevent "I went on a picnic . . ." I thought I would fill you in on some of my favorite funny things about the south that may either amuse you or bore you to sleep . . .
1. The big news story of the night is interviewing "Cocky" the mascot, who doesn't talk but the segment lasts for an entire third of the news program
2. Everyone really is related to everyone else, if not by blood, the degrees of separation are few (I've been here less than a month and my new relatives include my boss and a professor)
3. Boys have been seen wearing blue blazers over HOT PINK shirts, keep in mind a cool day feels about 93
4. I have eaten at a restaurant called the �Pork n� More� (which ps didn�t serve pork but rather fried chicken??)
5. The State is 49th (out of 50) in the SATs, and yet students are congratulated for the improved scores
6. The Stadium and Strom Thurmond Sports Center are brand new but the student parking lots are not paved
And I�ve saved two related ones for last. They deal with THE NEWSPAPER a constant source of amusement! It is called the State and headlines for about a week were about a terrible hurricane, in 1893! At the same time the other lead story was about the new Documentary (on sale at Bi-lo for something like 24.95 if your�e interested) on the Clemson USC rivalry, it talks about how we all know about the real fuel to the flame. What you don�t recall the game in 61? When the USC Sigma Nu�s stole Clemson uniforms and took the field before the game causing the Clemson fans to cheer FOR THE WRONG TEAM, simply unforgivable! (And we thought the Flat Hat sometimes lack top notch stories)
So hopefully, if you made it to the end you had a laugh. If not because it�s funny then because some people, namely me, live this way! I for one have started to yawn so maybe it worked for me! Love to you all,
