Subject: I see no reason the owner should not have a copy.

It is 'my' position that the owner of the evaluated dog should get a copy of the appraisal form. Since you attended the clinic you are no doubt aware of how the form is laid out and it's new method of completion. I assume that Carel showed you how you would be able to overlay one appraisal form with the other and get an excellent visual representation of each dogs strong points as well as faults. By doing this overlay method it is easy to see if the compared dogs have similar faults. I believe it was 'Walt', I mean Clay, that made the point, (paraphrased here), that when evaluating a pair of dogs for possible mating one should place more emphasis on comparing each dog's faults, than on comparing each dog's strengths when making a decision as to whether these two dogs would compliment each other if they were bred to each other. He was right on the money. Using this new form and the overlay technique points out both faults and strengths in an easily identifiable manner.

To your point, if the owner did not have a copy of the form, they would not be able to use this new and valuable tool in the comparison method described above. Regards, Jerry
