I think the Yamaha alto cost more than $5400, a lot more, much more.

For that amount of money, you should be comparing it with Brasil made Weril or Taiwaness Jupiter alto.

Value for your money.

By the way, Parsons carries the Toyama brand saxes. Not all branches carries stock (You have to ask if any branch have stock of alto). Real cheap ($3000 for the alto). Looks fantastic (all SHINING GOLD!).

Tell you what, I had one myself and I am satisfied with it. My wife once phoned me from the street to tell me that she can hear me playing it at home (Hmmmmm, I live on the 11th floor, you get the idea?).

If your budget is around $5000-HKD, Jupiter is a good choice for a beginner. Don't waste money on some China made product (Toyama).
