steve,

you can always readjust the thickness of the neck cock for any mouthpieces, just bring your neck and the mouthpiece to any technicians in HK and they can do the job for you in 15 mins. Yanagisawa makes pretty good metal pieces, but I am more impressed with their soprano mouthpieces (of course, that's my personal opinion). For flexible tones, I would really recommend you trying some dukoffs out there, they are great mouthpieces but at the same time inheriting the same otto link problem of the unstable quality, it's really hard to find a good one out there but if you do, I can assure you you will be more than satisfied with it.

I personally settled on a dukoff after spending a good amount of time looking for the 'perfect' alto piece. The lesson I learned is that you can pretty much play almost any 'music genres' of music with a mouthpiece that is right for you.
