it's quite dark enough.
lol!
It's a very impressive look at what drives Bauer, what goes through his mind .... I wonder if he'd use the word resuscitate, but other than that, you're dead on the mark. What an awful person. Bauer, not you. *half-smile* At first, I wondered if he'd have the insight to know that Mikey'd feel glad he'd be the one receiving Bauer's attentions and not Nikita ... but actually, he's gotten quite a far way in the world, managed to manipulate Ops and Maddy more than a few times; he *is* a smart, if awful, man.
And I think we've had our question answered re: who was doing the talking earlier from the male perspective, hmmm? At least, that's how I interpret it.
And it's a chapter that's perfectly fitting the entire story, one that would be an obvious big gaping hole if you'd not posted it, had not had the courage to write it ....
I congratulate you. :)
and can't wait for the last installment ... will it be Mikey's POV? Hmmmm ... bet his rage runs deeply. He's capable of so much, and perhaps this is a later season Mikey when he's less of a Section team player, where he could orchestrate Bauer's untimely (or timely?) end. But of course, that's not the point (nor the style) of your story, is it ... we won't find out what happens "in the end" but only his view of this snippet in the day in the life of M + N, O + M ... and Bauer .... well, I look forward to it.
