There were times the end of this tale seemed so near, but when it came to getting it down on 'paper' it stretched on and on.

Ironically when I learned in advance of the planned storyline for the S4/series finale, I not only despised the premise, but I had no desire to write about it. But after seeing it and after purchasing Into the Labyrinth by Dead Can Dance as a sort of solace for the sadness after seeing the ep, the idea for the opening scene arose while listening to that album. My muse had its way with me.

I learned a great deal about the coast of France and Monaco through my research, along with other side topics including swingers, lol. My greatest goal was to rediscover the true characters and their motivations, since it was the loss of these characters that I had come to know that disturbed me the most about FLYF.

As for any sequels....quite unlikely. This story stretched far longer than I ever envisioned and my energy for it is pretty much spent. But it does give me great joy to know I finished a story, building it chapter by chapter, forming a for the most part, a cohesive story.

Many thanks go out to each of you for taking the time to read and prod me on, leaving thoughtful and helpful comments. If it weren't for your encouragement, the writing wouldn't be half as rewarding. :)

Schnee
