Subject: Earth Angel Chap:1-2

A young man stands at the edge of a cliff looking down over a city. Strong, solid; the kind of man people can't help but notice. His ice blue eyes, blond hair and muscled body are enough to set him apart from the average man but there is still more to him than this. Upon careful inspection one can see that sprouting from his shoulders are beautiful white wings. The ends of the feathers shine in the mmonlight as though dipped in silver. A slight wind ruffles the feathers gently and he sighs heavily as his shoulders slump. Dressed only in black trousers his skin is soon covered in goosebumps and he shivers a bit.

Voice: "You know it's going to rain soon."

Man: "Let it, I don't care. A little water won't hurt me."

He turns and catches sight of a small woman in front of him. Her dark hair and fair complexion differ greatly from his own blond, bronze and brooding features. She too has wings that grace her shoulders, but one is injured due to a run in with an overzealous and jittery hunter.

Man: "You should have let Azure heal that for you. Now it's going to scar."

Woman: "Let it, I don't care. A little scar won't hurt me."

The man winces at her mocking. She loved to throw his own words in his face and use them to taunt.

Man: "Is there a reason you're here?"

Woman: "The same as you. To watch over her."

Man: "Over whom?"

Woman: " Her. Don't be obtuse. You know who I mean."

Man: "I'm sorry Emily, but I'm afraid I don't."

Emily struggled to keep her temper. Sometimes her brother could be infuriating. Despite this she managed to keep calm, only the slight quivering of her wings gave any hint at her anger.

Emily: " Jason you know exactly who I mean. The girl, the one you watch everyday. The one you've watched since before her spirit left for earth."

Jason: "Why are you watching her?"

Emily: "To make sure you don't do anything stupid. You're an angel, an archangel as well as a guardian, you're not a saint. I've seen your temper, especially with regards to her."

Jason: "I haven't done a thing!"

Emily: "Really? Is that why that guy who asked her out last week is now walking around without his memory as well as without his testicles?"

Jason hated when she saw through him like that. But that guy had deserved it. He'd scared her. Jason could feel it, could hear it in her mind, knew it without a doubt in his mind. So he had to go down and do something. He was after all asigned to protect her. Ever since she had been given a body and sent down to earth, he'd watched her. He'd asked for special permission to look after her. He was only keeping the promise he'd made to her eons ago when he'd held her in his arms. The promise they both had made, that if either of them were sent to earth in bodies, the other would keep watch over them.

Jason: "Yes, I know. I shouldn't have gone that far. But he scared her."

Emily: "I know, but did you have to do it in front of her?"

Jason: "She didn't see me."

Emily(shakes her head): "Alright Jason. How is she though?"

Jason: "Beautiful like always."

Emily looked up at her brother, his face alight with a mixture of joy and agony. She knew without question how much he loved her. Her name was Robin. As it had been here so it was on Earth. Jason was devistated when she had been called to go to Earth. Her soul lifted into the body of a woman whose own soul called out for a child. Emily tried to recall her name, Anna, that's right. Anna had wanted a girl, a girl whose heart was always open, who was brilliant and funny and who lit up the lives of those around her. And so Robin had been sent. Emily was surprised that the girl had grown up to look like the very image her soul had taken. But then again when something was so pure how could the shell that housed it not take on the same characteristics?

Emily: "Come on Jason. Even angels need to rest."

Jason could see down through the city, to her house, to her room and straight to the face that had captured him so long ago. Her eyes that shone with innocent love, her smile that made his heart soar and the touch that would have left him breathless had he any to lose.Jason tore his eyes from the sight below him and turned and followed his sister to where the others were waiting.

Down below in the city, another being watched the girl. She was crucial to the master's plans. Heaven would lose something precious and there wasn't a thing those damned guardian angels of hers could do to stop it. It left amid the smell of sulfer and smoke and made its way back to where the master awaited.

Creature: " Master it is almost time."

Master: " Excellent. The precious angel will fall from grace and we will conquer them once and for all! "

Chap:2

Setting: Robin's Room

Robin Scorpio lay in her bed, her brow wrinkled in confusion at the smell that permeated her room. Sulfur and smoke? Where did that come from and why did she feel as though she were being watched. She'd had that feeling the other day with Dominic, only then she had felt warm and comforted. And a little confused when he keeled over in pain holding his groin and then got up looking around quizzically like he had no idea where he was. He left in the opposite direction and she had been relieved because something about him gave her the creeps. The same feeling she had now, like there was some malevolent presence near by. She tossed around a bit and the smell began to fade. But she still couldn't sleep. She knew what she needed to do. Robin got up, tossing her covers aside and left her room. Padding quietly past her parents room and to the study she opened the door slowly. The room was bathed in moonlight and it shone down on the overstuffed chair by the window, blanketing it in a soft silver glow. Robin walked over and grabbed the afghan off the back and curled up on the seat. She remembered all the nights as a little girl she spent in here with Grandpa Guiseppe as he would read to her about angels and how they would watch over people. she always fell asleep easily in the chair and always had the same dream. The dream that even now was washing over her as her eyes drifted slowly shut. And then she was asleep.

The dream is one of those where you find yourself as the main character and can feel everything that happens yet you are watching as a bystander as well. Robin looks around and can see a field and she sees herself by a small pond. She is disrobed from the top to her waist and her back is arched and her face is in her hands. She is sobbing, and she cries out in pain. Her watching self can feel it, a throbbing almost tearing at her shoulderblades. Her image self writhes in pain and doesn't stop until she feels hands sliding along her skin, smoothing and warming the ache from her body. Her watching self sees strong male hands, finely boned, firm and large. They are gentle as they cradle her with an almost featherlight touch. She sees her image self look up at the man and smile, her eyes bright, trusting and full of love. She herself can only see the body of the man, his face is blurred, but the thing that always catches her eye is the fact that the man has wings. Great, white wings whose feather tips shine with silver. Her watching self can feel the love that passes between her and the winged man. The glow around her image and the man nearly blinds her. And it is with difficulty that she sees the wings wrap themselves around her gently enfolding her body holding her a moment and then with great reluctance, they unfurl once more. It is then revealed that she too now has wings. Glisteningly white, like freshly driven snow, but with a pale, lavender tinge to each feather tip. Her image leans up to caress the man's face and her watching self can feel him smile beneath her fingers. Then the two bodies meet, touching lips gently and pulling back for a moment but then meeting once more for a kiss that leaves Robin's actual lips tingling. As they lay back on the grass, the man's muscles ripple and then quiver with suppressed desire and then the vision fades and Robin makes her journey back to the waking world.

Robin sits up abruptly as she awakens with a the same sense of longing she has everytime she has this dream. Her heart pounds madly in her breast and it is all she can do to keep from crying out at the loss of the infinite love she feels from her dream man. She has always wondered at this dream, has searched tirelessly for the meaning to it and has come up with only one conclusion. She's crazy. Starved for love and affection from a man and now her mind has created one, a winged one no less, and all the stories and fantasies her best friend Brenda has ever told her have manifested in some crazy dream. But Robin strongly suspected that her need to be free from the bonds of responsibility was the reason the man had wings. Wings to fly her away. The pain she felt from her own wings was her resistance to the idea that she was some kind of saint. She always hated the fact that everyone expected her to be perfect and unerring, Just once she wanted to disappoint them and let them see she was human, just like anyone else. Robin turned her head to the window and watched the sun creep up over the horizon to mark the beginning of a new day, a new chance to find who she was beyond the boundaries and edicts made by those around her. She was her own woman and it was high time she proved it to everyone, including herself. With that firmly planted in her mind she got up and left the study and went to face the world head on.

Elsewhere:

Emily stood on the same cliff as she had been with Jason the night before, now she could see into Robin's home and what she saw disturbed her. The anger Robin felt towards being labeled a saint was in serious danger of leading her to the darker powers that surrounded her. Even now the black aura that had been present around her house from the day she'd been born seemed to suck more light out of the area. Emily shook her head, she'd asked to join Jason as Robin's guardian angel and it was their job to protect her. Jason would never acknowledge that woman he loved was attracting the beings that would ultimately use her to bring about the destruction of mankind itself, that if the course kept moving along this way, she would soon be courting the temptations of the darker side, the side of Hell that would stop at nothing to possess her. So now it was up to Emily to find a way to help both her brother and her charge. After that, she suppossed, it was left to God's hands.
