Subject: Medic Alert "NO Child Without" program

Not sure how many of you heard the news about a new program being sponsered by MedicAlert...it was announced last week. I've pasted part of the article from their website on here for you to look at...probably a worthwhile project to look into for your child if you were considering getting a Medical Alert braclet in the future. For those schools who are participating, children will receive their first bracelet and membership (for the first year I believe) free of charge. Call your school to find out if they are aware of the program and if they can become part of it.

No Child Without
The No Child Without program is an exciting new program developed to ensure children across Canada from Junior Kindergarten up to 14 years of age with medical conditions, allergies or special needs are protected by the Canadian MedicAlert Foundation.
With the rise in childhood asthma, diabetes and allergies, parents and school administrators have reason to be concerned about the health and safety of their children. During the school day children can come in contact with up to five individuals responsible for their care and safety. Before and after school programs, recess, lunch and the classroom are often looked after by different individuals.

In case of a medical emergency, children can be the most vulnerable because they are often too young, too afraid or too hurt to express themselves. That is why parents often feel better knowing their children's MedicAlert identification can speak for them if they're not around.

MedicAlert is working with school boards across the country to implement the No Child Without program. The program will be sponsored through the financial support of businesses and corporations to provide children the safety and security that comes with MedicAlert.
