Hmmm.. Well.. I blame the whole overrated thing on the media (RADIO, Muchmusic, MTV etc)..

Now. As overrated as these artists are, it’s not really there fault. You see when a band first gets going they practice and play a lot of shows to get recognized. And once that starts happening, to make a little money they go to record a cd. Once the band has recorded that cd they are now in debt for making the cd, they attempt to make some of it back by selling it to anyone who will buy it. But, now that they have a cd they have to choose a first single. This first single is a song, which the band thinks is there "catchiest tune". With there first single chosen, they give it to local radio stations. If the band makes the right decision, and that single starts to take off. That little band becomes recognized. They start to get that little inch of fame they all secretly want. But with this fame comes the other half of the media. They media report on this new band that has come from nowhere and that causes them to start making headlines. So this is good and bad for the band. The good side of things is that they are getting their name out to many more people. The bad thing is that they have been playing the shit out that first single. Which makes them overrated.

So back to Linkin Park and Staind and all that shit. Well we only know about them because they got lucky. They came from the underground in to the mainstream. The band did there job and so did the media. These people may not be the best musicians in the world but they did their job, and now that makes them overrated? I think not…
