Subject: I need your prayers

Well, it's been a strange week for me! On March 8, I developed a pretty bad ear infection. I called my doctor, who called in a prescription for me. I thought I was taking antibiotics, but realized they were only decongestant pills. On the 9th, I developed the worst headache of my life, along with a high fever. I went to the emergency room, and found out through a spinal tap that I had developed spinal meningitis. Thankfully, it wasn't contagious! It seems that my ear drum burst from the infection, and then the infection spread into my brain. I was in the hospital for ten days, receiving antibiotics. I'm finally home, but still hurting pretty badly. I have to see a neurologist next week to determine if there is any brain damage. I seemed to have lost most of my short-term memory, but I'm hoping that is just from the drugs for pain and the antibiotics. So, please say a prayer for me, and wish me luck. I'm so frightened. The E.R. doc told me that I was very lucky to be alive, that they didn't think they were going to be able to pull me through. For that, I thank the good Lord above.
