Cool. -- VKMax, 06:14:21 09/06/03 Sat
I love how Giles is telling the story and it cuts through very Fool For Love-ish (that's a good thing) Giles sounds really Giles...I can especially here the
"I was wondering, um..." stupid!
that bit I can really hear, good job.

A well-inspired blast -- MTsFan, 19:36:17 09/06/03 Sat
This is another inspired story. It fills in well. I really like the technique of Giles telling the story to Buffy. Her reactions fit right in with her reactions to The Dark Age.
All BtVS had on Ripper is that one of the Eyghon abusers died. It was almost as if by an accident. Giles may have been responsible, but not culpable. His redemption would then be easy. The details are something else entirely. He deals with Eyghon in the same way as with Glory - by killing a human host. This is an excellent story with ties to so much of BtVS that it fits very well.
Your development of a truly evil Ripper makes redemption so much harder. Thefts and the attack on the guy's eyes are one thing, but letting a Slayer die hits close to home.
The reference to Travers fills in that relationship well. Likewise with Rack. That looks like him getting his start taking over the woman's practice.
I've had my concerns that this series would fall off the standards set by the early writers because episodes are being posted so slowly. My fears are unfounded, I see.

This *rocks* -- anyas_butt_monkey, 18:09:08 09/08/03 Mon
Giles' backstory was something that sorely needed covering onscreen, and yet ME, for some reason, never got around to doing it.
But then, I think thats OK, because then we get to write about it :) This is a job well done, Rocky-o, part 2 has a lot to live up to.

Ooo. I loved it. -- Jordy, 23:19:32 09/10/03 Wed
I'm not always that easily impressed by fanfic but you have done a great job. It's great to see how his early life fitted together and I finally see logic to how Giles never got invited to watchers retreats etc. Even though he was the one who had the slayer. Very well written overall though I'm slightly sceptical about Rack don't see the relevance but then again I don't see the harm. Looking forward to the conclusion and wouldn't mind some more info on that slayer.

have to agree with the concensus here -- Gemma, 23:20:38 09/11/03 Thu
This was excellent and something that needed to be covered. And have no fear it's being covered well as I always wante more of Giles' back-story.
Well done. Look forward to the conclusion
