I love how Giles is telling the story and it cuts through very Fool For Love-ish (that's a good thing) Giles sounds really Giles...I can especially here the

"I was wondering, um..." stupid!

that bit I can really hear, good job.

This is another inspired story. It fills in well. I really like the technique of Giles telling the story to Buffy. Her reactions fit right in with her reactions to The Dark Age.

All BtVS had on Ripper is that one of the Eyghon abusers died. It was almost as if by an accident. Giles may have been responsible, but not culpable. His redemption would then be easy. The details are something else entirely. He deals with Eyghon in the same way as with Glory - by killing a human host. This is an excellent story with ties to so much of BtVS that it fits very well.

Your development of a truly evil Ripper makes redemption so much harder. Thefts and the attack on the guy's eyes are one thing, but letting a Slayer die hits close to home.

The reference to Travers fills in that relationship well. Likewise with Rack. That looks like him getting his start taking over the woman's practice.

I've had my concerns that this series would fall off the standards set by the early writers because episodes are being posted so slowly. My fears are unfounded, I see.
