Omigod, I've been away too long. You've both had babies? That's wonderful! Hope you both and babies and dads are all doing fine. What are their names?

Sorry to be out of touch for so long. But as of this week, I've joined the ranks of the unemployed and hope at least to have a little more time to visit the board till I find something else. So where's everybody else?

I thought Cinderella was pretty interesting. It had a lot of potential, but for some reason, you're right--it turned out a bit dreary. It was really interesting how they tried to turn the German fairy tale into a Celtic myth. I saw it at least a year ago, so I don't remember it very well now, but my impression is that the acting was a bit leaden or too somber. (Did the blonde evil step-sister remind anyone else of the woman whose body is taken over by Jack the Ripper in DW's Outer Limits episode? I'm pretty sure it's not the same actress, but she certainly was evil!) The scenery and cinematography were gorgeous ... and a certain person in the foreground (during the first half at least) was quite pleasant to look at as well! ;-) But for some reason the plot just seemed to drag. (Especially in the second half!)

My little girl's name is Jadzia. She's fine, although I think my househusband is in serious need of some sort of anti-anxiety medication, since he also has to deal w/ a three year old boy.

Regarding Cinderella, it wasn't too bad, especially the first half. One thing I noticed, aside from that lovely jacket, was, to me, the lack of chemistry between DW and Kathleen Turner. I mean, there's a kissing scene between the two of them and he looks almost uncomfortable. That kind of detracts from the whole idea that she was able to marry him quickly because he was, uh, "lonely."

Jadzia--that's a pretty name! Is she named after the Star Trek character, or is that just coincidence? Best wishes to your whole family.

Yeah, that kiss struck me as being a little on the chaste side for a couple of newlyweds, now that you mention it. Sort of a fairy-tale kiss, I suppose, although the evil stepsisters certainly aren't the ones I remember from the children's story! I remember wondering if perhaps Mrs. Warner was on the set that day or something! ;-) (Then again, it looks like maybe they're just getting warmed up when the scene cuts.)

I did, and it's such a pretty name. To keep this post on topic, I'll just say that DW's episode of ST:TNG was one of the best acted of the series. It was a real treat to see him opposite Patrick Stewart.

Whew, my first few months have been hectic.
My baby's name is Aaron. Turns out he has eczema (to borrow a quote from DW, it's a Dennis Potter kind of thing), which is high maintenance.
Sorry to hear about the unemployment. A cold wind has been blowing for a while and now it's only getting stronger, so the good (?) news is, you have company!
At least we all have the live Dr. Who to look forward to - that so completely rocks! Wait til I tell my husband!!!
