Why the City of Angels? Several reasons (in no particular order).

- There are plenty of improv and comedy clubs we could go to: ACME, Houseful of Honkeys, The Improv, The Groundlings, The Laugh Factory, The Comedy Store, The Largo, and so on. Plenty of options for a comedy-hungry group such as ourselves. (And several delicious all-night diners, incuding Canters and Jerry's Famous Deli, for post-show snacking.)

- I'm not going to lie; the fact that most of the WL players live in the area makes LA look quite attractive. It increases our chances of being able to book one (or more) of them to guest at the con. There's even a chance (just a chance, mind you) that we'd be able to attend a taping as a group if there is one over our con weekend.

- If there's one thing LA has, it's hotels. Yes, some are expensive, but there are plenty of middle-priced and even some cheap ones around that we could look into. There's also the possibility of using university dorms.

- Plenty of tourist attractions for those who want to take advantage of them on Thursday or Sunday (or whenever). Can you imagine a group of Whosers at Disneyland? Or Universal Studios? Or, for a less expensive option, there's always a trip down Hollywood Blvd and/or Universal Citywalk.

- Last but not least: there is a growing number of Whosers in or near the West Coast who, depressing as it is, simply can't afford to get to Toronto. Some have had to miss all prior conventions simply because the cross-country flight cost too much. I realize there are East-Coasters with the same problem getting to LA, and that saddens me greatly. But for the past 4 years, cons have been held in the east. Perhaps it is time to consider a change.
