I'm finding the other thread a little confusing so in summary, in approximate chronological order...

July

16 July : BBC CO - HMS Pinafore.

17 July : The Fairy Queen

18 July 2005 Die Walkuere,
ROH orchestra, cond. Pappano
Cast including Domingo, Terfel, Meier, Gasteen

23-07-05 RLPO Hebredies Overture,Vaughan Williams Sea Symphony Gerard Scwarz

24th July Halle Orch and Choir doing Dream of Gerontius

26 July: Oliver Knussen conducting (inter alia, I hope) the world premiere of a piece for orchestra by Detlev Glanert.

28th July, Bournemouth SO under Alsop sometime in July, includes the UK premier of Concerto for Violin and Orchestra ("The Red Violin"), by John Corigliano, soloist Joshua Bell

31 July : Berlioz's Romeo & Juliette (Cond. Volkov, BBC SSO??)

August

02 (or maybe08)/08/2005 Nicholas McGegan with the Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra, Handel "Water Music", various Arias; Rameau "Suite d'orchestre from Les Paladins"

Danish National Symphony Orchestra
12 August 2005
The BBC Proms at the Royal Albert Hall, London
Conductor: Thomas Dausgaard
Soloists: Lars Vogt, piano
Inger Dam-Jensen, soprano
Works by Bent Sørensen, Grieg and Carl Nielsen.
(as part of their celebration of the Hans Christian Andersen bicentenary)

15th August – Welsh National Opera will be bringing a "semi-staged concert version of Tchaikovsky’s Iolanta”

23 August : Glyndebourne Prom - Giulio Cesare

September

Thursday 1-09-05 Concertgebouw Mahler Zesde(Sixth?)Symphony
Maris Jansons 19:00

Friday 2-09-05 Concertgebouw Brahms 1st Symphony Maris Jansons 19:30

No date known

Viktoria Mullova playing a new violin concerto by Fraser Trainer

Anthony Marwood, playing something, possibly Thomas Adès's new violin concerto, with the Chamber Orchestra of Europe

Louis Lortie with the Munich Phil, date and repertoire unkown

New Zealand Phil at some point

Philip Dukes (viola) will appear with the BBCNOW

Chamber Proms

Andrew Kennedy (tenor) will / should give a recital in the V & A

Outside chance

Possibly Alban Gerhardt with BBCSSO under Vanska

Wild speculation and wishful thinking

And a fair dose of Tippett as well I expect.

"Vision of Saint Augustine"? After all, it was a BBC commission, completed 40 years ago. House Band and Chorus - I'd say The Gerbil is most likely

next year will be the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Trafalgar and the 111th season (will we all have to stand on one leg?), what do you think are the chances of getting the Nelson Mass?

Also, it will be the 100th anniversary of the first performance of Wood's Fantasia on British Sea Songs - anyone think we might get to hear it as Wood intended?

a concert version of Lennox Berkeley's wonderful opera, 'Nelson'?

Even further in the future

According to the detailed bid book for London 2012, "the BBC will stage a month long season of Prom concerts in the Royal Albert Hall with an Olympic theme". Now whether this means it'll be a shorter season, or the Olympic theme will only last for a month is anybody's guess

Suggested programme

Hasse's "L'Olympiade
