Got a copy of the 2006 guide this morning. On a fairly quick scan through, it appears that most of the rumours listed here were pretty accurate.

Brief overall (and of course totally personal) impression is that the 2006 programme is a bit of a big yawn... All looks very predictable and standard-fare. E.g. the entirely predictable Shostakovich celebration actually leaves out all the less performed symphonies and just trots out all the usual suspects. Again. Yes, there's a legitimate argument that these pieces have already had or will get an airing in London or Manchester, but still...

The Bliss Colour Symphony is about the only curiosity that tickles my fancy... Though I'm sure others will find plenty to please them, as ever.
