I thought it a good time - and good work simulation - to collate together the rag bag of rumours of all varieties of assuredness into one list now that we have been pointed too in the Other Place. Of course more will arise, but there we go. I just thought the last thread had reached a difficult length for newbies, what with Lee's drooling over certain soloists and all ... (only kidding, dear fellow).

In some sort of chronological order (where dates known, obviously):

20 July: Prague Philharmonic/Belohlavek - programme tba

22 July: BBC Philharmonic/Noseda - Casken "Broken Consort"

23 July: Ensemble Modern Orchestra/Benjamin - Grigny "Recit de Tierce en Taille", Messiaen "Des Canyons aux Etoiles", Benjamin "Palimpsest I/II"

28 July: London Philharmonic/Masur - Janacek "Glagolitic Mass"

30 July: Bavarian RSO/Jansons: Dvorak Symphony No.8, Strauss "Ein Heldenleben"

31 July: Bavarian RSO/Jansons: Shostakovich Violin Concerto No.1 (Gidon Kremer, vn), Tchaikovsky Symphony No.6

1 August: Britten "War Requiem"

9 August: National Youth Orchestra - programme tba

9 August (late night): Messiaen "Poemes pour Mi" (Brewer)

14 August: Saint-Saens Symphony No.3 'Organ' (Dame Gillian Weir)

20 August: Humperdink "Hansel and Gretel"

26 August: Glyndebourne Opera - Rakhmaninov "The Miserly Knight", Puccini "Gianni Schicci"

27 August: Wagner "Wesendonck Lieder" and "Liebestod" (Voigt)

30 August: Oslo Philharmonic/Previn - Debussy "Prelude a l'apres midi d'un faun", Previn Violin Concerto (Anne-Sofie Mutter, vn), Prokofiev Symphony No.5

? August: Australian Youth Orchestra/Foster

? August: Cleveland Orchestra/Welser-Most

? August: Monteverdi Choir/Gardner - Bach B Minor Mass

2 September: BBC NOW/Llewellyn - Songs by Kurt Weill (Ruthie Henshall)

3 September: Dresdner Staatskapelle/Haitink

4 September: Dresdner Staatskapelle/Haitink

5 September: Berliner Philharmoniker/Rattle

6 September: Berliner Philharmoniker/Rattle

8 September: Czech Philharmonic - Dvorak "Scherzo Capriccio", Violin Concerto, Symphony No.9

Dates unknown and sketchy tidbits:

Bach Choir/Hickox - music by Delius and Holst

Birmingham Opera Company - Britten "Curlew River"

Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment/Rattle - Wagner "Das Rheingold"

CBSO/Oramo, Leon McCawley

Visits by Zuckerman Chamber Players and the Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra under McGegan

New work by Hellawell with Clio Gould on violin

I think that's it so far, but don't be afraid to add more. Until the publishing date, obviously.

I think a rumour effectiveness review will be in order after the end of this month.
