Well, all I can offer this year is pure speculation... Hanging around in the "Briton's Protection" pub in Manchester after BBC Phil concerts has revealed nothing more than the Casken rumour already mentioned. And my BBCNOW contacts have revealed..... precisely nothing! I must be losing my touch!....

At a wild guess the Hicox/Bach choir Delius/Holst Prom might feature the almost totally (and unjustifiably) unperformed "Cloud Messenger" by Holst. It's certainly about time if so, given that it's the 70th anniversary of his passing.... Can we not also expect a fair dose of Elgar during the season given the 1934/2004 connection for Holst, Delius & Elgar? How about Elgar's neglected "The Apostles"? Delius "Mass of Life" would be nice, too, but I won't hold my breath....

As to all the inevitable Dvorak.... Not my cup of tea, but marvellous for those who appreciate such things, no doubt. Hopefully, Mr Kenyon won't have forgotten those other anniversaries though.......
