In any case, it was part of the Fantasia as originally conceived by Timber. His version, however, was purely orchestral, the words were put in later and an arrangement (Sargent?) of the original replaced Wood's arrangement.

If it were to be omitted, therefore, I would expect any responsible concert management to mention that they were doing an incomplete work.
