Well, Slatkin has championed the Copland organ symphony, and has performed it at the Proms in the past. However, since it's a less than entirely approachable work, and far from well known, I can't see it on the first night.

Anything less predictable than Saint-Saens 3 would be good. I suspect my heartfelt plea for Khachaturian 3 is on a hiding to nothing. In any case a racket on this scale (21 trumpets, huge percussion section, magesterially angry and frankly loud organ part) is not the sort of thing the BBCSO perform with panache.

Perhaps the first night will have an organ theme as a whole, e.g. someone like Wayne Marshall to do some solo stuff, and then an organ concerto/symphony in part 2?
