I don't consider myself above the Arena Prommers in any way at all other than my location in the hall. The atomosphere in the Gallery is a pleasent as that in the Arena, though different.

I thought after speaking to the member of staff that perhaps I was being unreasonable and it was just me that was affected, so I asked other people in different parts of the Gallery and it's not just me that finds the new lights unpleasant while watching the performance.

The main reason for mentioning the matter here was as a response to the question about RAH staff. I found the manner I was spoken to and dealt with far from satisfactory.

Thanks John for your more understanding reply. I have always liked to think that apart from our physical seperation the Arena and Gallery prommers are all part of the same group of people at the Proms.
