 Ok, I am of British descent, but I have never heard my family speak of the Proms.

Nor do they cover it in North America, not that I have seen anyway.

But, recently ... I was watching tv, and caught a glimpse of what looked like millions of people cheering, waving flags and singing. I didn't know what was going on! I thought Northern Ireland had reached peace. I thought it was Britains birthday. I was so confused.

So I researched the net, and found out it was Last Night Of Proms. What is Last Night? When is it usually held?

Was I watching a repeat concert? I saw it today (Oct 6 02).

Can someone fill me in on one of the most beautiful concerts I have ever seen?!!
