I have a vision of Disneyland-like signs being erected along various streets near the Hall - those signs which say how long you will be queueing from that point. Perhaps something like "You have a good chance of getting in from here" or "If the queue has reached here, forget it".

I hope no-one at the Hall reads this, they might just do it.

Those occasional collosal day queues are one reason why I get a season ticket - it certainly doesn't make financial sense based on the number of concerts I typically attend. Also the season queue is normally shorter by the time I manage to turn up at the Hall after work no matter what the conductor, orchestra, work and so on.
