OK, that's enough slagging off us southerners ;)

The reason I haven't put in a review of the concert was that I wasn't there and didn't listen on radio either, as I had other commitments that day. This was nothing to do with a prejudice against 'northern' orchestras. I am a big fan of the BBC Phil (witness my review of their sublime Heldenleben this season) and have had several good evenings listening to the Hall� in years past. My review of them a few seasons ago highlighted the obvious lack of empathy between Nagano and the orchestra as the reason why it failed to excite.

Whereas previous experience may be a pointer to future performance, as with one or two orchestras one could mention, it is quite ridiculous to prejudge a band purely by their geographical location - be it north OR south.
