Derrick,

I think you were missing my point. I only used the word "regional" because you and an earlier poster seem to be making such a fuss of this north-south (i.e. geographical) issue. (besides, the more PC "non-London based" takes longer to type ;-)).

Having spent a fair proportion of my concert-going life in various parts of the UK/Europe before moving to London, I totally agree with you that where an orchestra comes from is irrelevant and if anything concerts with "no hype attached" tend to be the most satisfying.
