I hasten to add that I'm not (necessarily) fishing for compliments here (although any kind words are gratefully accepted). It's just that for the first time in this Proms season the BBCSC had a starring role and IMHO made good use of it (better, I thought, than the late night a cappella concert of two years ago), and a little useful feedback from the crits would have been nice.

And of course I exaggerate the paucity of the crowd, although I'm guessing the hall was less than one-quarter full. But with a concert ending after the last trains had gone (about ten minutes to twelve, as I recall), such things are to be expected.
