Subject: Christmas birding - Wood County

An afternoon of birding around Bowling green, Grand Rapids, and Otsego area produced 35 species. The highlight was probably CLOSE good looks from the car, at a dozen or more Lapland Longspurs and Snow Buntings with some Horned Larks, at the entrance to the County landfill west of BG, and off Kellogg Rd off north side of lanfill property, too - if we get snow again, perhaps these birds will be there again. Raptors were not bad with G-H Owl, R-T Hawk, Harrier, S-S Hawk, and Kestrel. Only Canada Goose and Mallard for waterfowl, however.
