In reply to: Tad 's message, "Lady Lions and Tigers" on 16:06:35 02/17/26 Tue

Tigers holding Crimson to 49 in Cambridge earlier was the tipoff.

Tigers 63-53 today, with the suspicion that it would take a long time before Crimson could score 30 points in a first half against this version of Berube’s defense.

One bid for the Ivies this year.

After P leading most of the game, H tied it at 49 midway through the 4th. I thought it could have gone either way but the P women would not be denied.

Berube has done a great job at P from day one inheriting a solid legacy from Banghart and improving on it. I think this was her best coaching performance yet. A thin roster whittled further by losing a backup to injury, and without some of the height we had become accustomed to and managing to navigate to a title and tourney win. Well done by the staff and players.

Yes, outstanding job by Coach Berube and her staff. Vast majority of the minutes went to just six players, none over 6’1”, and they ended up 26-3 and ranked #23 for the past several weeks. Congrats to this impressive Tiger team, I’m looking forward to seeing them in the Big Dance!

I had wondered if thinness of roster would adversely affect their season.

Turns out, not so much. Coach and squad for the win.

Great job by Berube after losing 6-4 Tabitha Amanze to transfer.

Second thoughts, Tabitha? We’d welcome you back, if you do’t mind giving up those UVA credits.

Charlie Creme has Tigers as a 10 seed, UVa as a 12 on the bubble.
