Let me repeat, 40 years!! In fact, and unless I am mistaken, for the last 20 years Cornell wrestling has a 98-2 record versus the rest of the ivy league. After the Friedman center was built, Cornell made an all-out effort to become a national power, and they succeeded handsomely. Of course, their success has been a bane to the rest of the league, but good for Cornell. During their period of dominance, they have represented the ivy league well and have produced numerous national champions. So the Columbia triumph is something to shout about and Columbia is now poised to become league champion for the first time in I don't know how long. Trailing Cornell by several points very late in the match, the Asack Brothers, powerful Bob and gigantic Lew, two of the greatest athletes to ever don the light blue, dominated their Cornell opponents in the 191 pound and heavyweight classes to win the meet. WKCR, Columbia's radio station, broadcast the historic match throughout the New York Metropolitan Area.
