Not too much bugs me about Columbia, though I do take note that some Lion fans can be a bit defensive in reaction to what I trust fans of other schools correctly interpreted as a punchline.

In all seriousness, why do Columbia fans think that everybody is trying to say something at their expense? I had just finished expressing my admiration for Abbey Hsu.

There's a unique paranoia within the ecosystem of Morningside Heights and the diaspora of Columbia fans that is different from the admittedly emotional relationship between other Ivy fans and their alma maters.

In my defense, I submit from your consideration that you might have been selective and thus misleading while quoting from The Athletic article. The full quote is:

"Abbey Hsu's favorite part of New York is Columbia's campus, since it walls off the clamor of the city. 'I don't do too well with all the noisiness,' she says. . . ."

You and I both went to college when the SAT was required to apply. Which of us has presented the more accurate summation of the point of these two sentences?
