this team continues to over achieve - we have rebounded well after previous Yale series -- GO LIONS! Cornell will be a test no doubt but i suspect we are up to it !

So in three games we scored something like 45 runs. Yale outplayed us to be sure, or more accurately our relief pitching collapsed in the two games that we lost. But the Columbia offense is pretty remarkable—no easy outs in that lineup and multiple power hitters.

Yes, the offense is super and the team is exceeding expectations given loss of our ace and sketchy bullpen. We lead the league in HRs by a wide margin. Cornell is having a very good season, played a tough OOC and also has a lot of offense. Both teams have ERAs above 7. Should be a fun series, especially if you like scoring.

What happened to Andy Leon, our best pitcher coming into the season? And where was Cooper last weekend?

Columbia Baseball is really tearing the cover off the ball. Their offense is so strong that it's regularly putting up football numbers.

But sometimes the opponent is also putting up football scores—we have had 9th inning meltdowns in 2 of our games in which the other guys put up 9 runs in the last inning. Santana however pitched a gem against Brown.

Another football score as the Lions defeated Seton Hall on the road today by the mind boggling score of 31-0. I hope those bats still have lots of hits in them for Cornell on the road this weekend.

31-0 in seven innings. Unreal. Seton Hall is not awful, 19-22. I believe we have scored 12 runs or more 10 times this season and given up 12 or more 10 times. Almost more surprising than scoring 31 is CU throwing a shutout in a midweek game. On to Cornell.
