 Having noted a negative story about Penn baseball , I am delighted to report a P baseball retweet of a fan’s tweet. The fan noted that when the P public address system went silent, the two teams sang the national anthem a capella. The clip only showed the P team doing so but the tweeter obviously was there and I take the report as fully accurate. Good on both squads. Quite a contrast to recent scenes on another Ivy campus.

To my surprise, P took 2 out of three and to my greater surprise actually held Penn to 2 runs in a 3-2 win. The team ERA is around 6, although not the worst in the League. We’ve given up 22 runs and mid-teens in other League losses. Bottom of the League in fielding and lead the League in errors. And unlike last year, when we had Bandura who then jumped to the pros, we don’t hit well either, bottom of the League there as well. That we are still in the running for a spot in yet another crazy League playoff with six games to go is a tribute to Coach Bradley and tge guys who manage to do enough to be above .500 in tge League right now.
