1-Yale 6-1 (8-2) If any other school had to replace Nolan Grooms I’d expect a significant decline. In recent years I’ve underestimated Yale so for this year I’m “overestimating” them. Pivotal game will be Princeton because Yale has struggled against them and Princeton views Yale as their chief rival.

1- Princeton 6-1 (8-2) I won’t be surprised to see Princeton return as a serious championship contender. Pivotal game will be against Penn because the prior two had some wild finishes.

3- Harvard 5-2 (8-2) Harvard shouldn’t experience too much of a drop off. Pivotal game will be against Yale. Not because it the “Game” but since Yale’s 2016 upset Harvard has struggled against them. A Yale victory will make The Crimson’s “Brake Up” dinner more memorable. If Princeton or Yale were to slip, then Harvard could get a share of the championship.

4- Dartmouth 4-3 (6-4) The Big Green should be dark horse champion contender. Pivotal Game could be against their chief rival Harvard. The outcome could determine if the Big Green are still yearly champion contenders.

5- Penn 3-4 (5-5)Despite discovering the dynamic Jared Richardson and Malachi Hosley, Penn’s new normal post Alek Torgersen is in the middle of the pack. Pivotal Game will be Brown because those last two losses to the Bears knocked Penn out the title contention.

5- Brown 3-4 (5-5) Brown is on the verge of building something special. Pivotal Game could be at Dartmouth. This game could tell how far Bruno needs to go for that winning season.

7- Cornell 2-5(4-6) Despite the trepidation bringing in a new coach- any new coach will be refreshing in Ithaca will be refreshing. During last month’s media day new coach Dan Sawnstorm said he dose not know what he has until the team steps on the field. Big Red is fortunate to start the season against 0-3 Colgate. Pivotal game could be against Brown . This could be the measuring stick The Big Red needs to see how far there’re away from achieving an elusive winning season.

8- Columbia 1-7 (2-8) One more rough year and The Lions could be back to their winning ways. Pivotal Game could be Cornell. Winning The Empire State Bowl could be the springboard Columbia needs for a strong 2025 season.

Ivy Sprint Football
Penn 3-4 The “Lightweight “ Quakers are in the same situation the conventional team is in- Adjusting to life without a legendary coach and a dynamic quarterback.

Cornell 1-6 Fortunately, for the Big Red hardly anyone is was last year was their first losing season since 1949, let along cares. The season should be moderate improvement. Any improvement will be a sweet relief.

Things To Watch:
Dartmouth’s Ahmir Braxton on and off the field. How Will Buddy Teevens be honored during the naming ceremony. I hope there’s a 2023 Ivy League Championship ring with his name on it. He did put all the pieces together for Dartmouth’s championship season. This gesture will be a good way to honor him and bring some joy to his family.
Will Cornell’s Eddie Marinaro step on the field? After being a prized QB recruit that wad named All Region for football basketball, lacrosse and football has been buried on the depth chart at WR and RB. This is his senior year and it’s surprising he hasn’t gotten onto the field given how Cornell rotates their running backs and wide receivers like hockey players. Any update on Al Bags health? I for one would love to see this “Ivy Lord of The Rings “ return for a trilogy.
