The key stat after the score speaks volumes: 5-19 in the passing game. It was a different QB starter from last week. Not sure where we go from here at that position. Special teams looked good but we definitely need to make a week 2 to week 3 jump. I have always liked that we start with 2 OOC games to get ready for a run for the only prize we can get in football, the League title. And one egregious RTP call on 3d down that denied getting possession in H territory and led to their TD probably skewed the score (notwithstanding some iffy calls in Tigers' favor that were not as consequential situationally). I also thought the defense played cohesively and aggressively, much better than they looked the previous week. And the ground game, led by Volker also was much more effective than against Lehigh. But aside from the one beautiful TD throw, the air game never got into a rhythm. Passing plays seemed disjointed and McCalister was only dangerous when he scrambled, which he did to great effect. I wonder if Coach Surace will stick with one of the Blaines or move down the depth chart to find an answer? [ Post a Reply to This Message ]

And HU also committed 11 penalties. At least it did not rain nearly as much as it did at the Bryant game last year. [ Post a Reply to This Message ]
