Last week my picks were 2 of 6 and 1 of 2 for Ivy Sprint. Winning the first conference game is crucial. A team that has lost the first league game went on to win a share of the championship only ten times. Giving about 15% chance of occurrence.

Harvard and Brown was Ivy (football) madness. By the second quarter Harvard jumped to a 21-3. Must like last week The Crimson kept hammering away with dive plays. Jayden Craig took almost all the QB snaps. Charles DePrima’s 51 yard reception is a nice wrinkle in the play book. Harvard rarely passed beyond 10 yards to the point it looked like Penn. For most of the second half it looked like Brown’s mistakes were going to cost them. That includes a missed FG, missed 4 and goal and a missed 2xp that looked like a catch. The Bears QB Wilcox ran several times to move the when the drive depended on it. It took as we all know a botched Crimson FG snap and several fumbles until Brown recovered and scored a 27 TD to win. This is the type of victory Bruno needs to take the next step. As for Harvard this game might have defined their season. It will set them back on track or this loss will be the turning point of a “ what could’ve been” season.

It was more of the same with Cornell and Yale. Yale usually starts the season slow. As for Cornell this is their second straight win over the Bulldogs but Cornell is still an inconsistent team.

Columbia lost a close game but it’s encouraging to see their offense back to normal.

You’d expect a novice QB to lean heavily on the RB. However, Howard hindered Tiger RB Volker but it was dual skill set from QB Blaine McAllister to helped him out in the second half and a Tiger 30-13 win.

Penn cruised to a victory by 6 yard runs and 6 yards passes , much like they’ve done since 2022.

Dartmouth just like Brown and Princeton used QB runs to get the offense going to get the win. Are we starting to see a pattern or coincidence?

Key Game: Penn @ Dartmouth. Not Because Buddy Teevens will be honored but that last two years this game has gone to OT. The visitor winning both. I hope to see an Ivy Champion ring with coach Teevens name on presented to his family. He put the pieces together for last year’s championship.

Ivy CSFL
Navy went “easy “ Cornell to win 49-0. Midshipmen are capable of putting up 70.

Penn looks like they found their replacement for 2019 CSFL Offensive POY QB Eddie Jenkins with Michael Malone.

Week Two picks:
Harvard 35 UNH 24
Dartmouth 27 Penn 24
Brown 34 Bryant 13
Princeton 28 Columbia 21
Cornell 24 Albany 17
Yale 28 Central Conn 24
Ivy CSFL:
Penn 31 Cornell 10
