A word of praise for Joey; one of the best all around games by a Columbia RB in years; does it all, runs with purpose, follows his blocks, protects his QB in the pass game. While he is not another speed burner his cut back ability is excellent.

This kid did a great interview on the Athletic Department website, I was very impressed by him. And he has been a great RB for Columbia. I only saw most of the second half and Columbia displayed a balanced attack we could not stop in that half. Princeton needs to bounce back but playing Mercer will be a tough hill to climb.

Both Surace and one of the Columbia captains on separate interviews said before the game that any team can beat any other in the League if one team is playing in top form and the opponent is off it’s game. I know it’s a cliche but it seems to an accurate description of the League at this point and it wasn’t always so.

I did not see Canty go down; did see Howard. Any word on how they are doing? Tough to lose either of them. I am hoping our injured are able to play this week.

I also saw his post-game interview; this young man was very impressive; very poised and articulate. He’ll have a bright future whenever his playing days are over. And while he does not have blazing speed he follows his blocks, has great balance, is strong, and knows how to be patient and let the play develop.

Take a look too at his game week interview during the week before the game. That is the one I saw.
