A permanent stain on Sovern and Cole. There was our game day parking. Outrageous decision to use a portion of Baker Field for a hospital which could have gone on the east side of Broadway.

Fwiw I love the game day experience at Baker. Once you come to terms with paying for parking (yesterday was for $3 less than at Gtown) it is convenient and in a nice neighborhood

It is a great NYC afternoon; it is a shame more from metro area dont check it out

I really don’t understand why more people don’t show up at what is for me one of the great settings for college football. Great sight lines from anywhere in the stands, glorious views of the Hudson, friendly crowds, good facilities and decent food options.

agree with some of the complaints - we used to have free beer and dogs prior to game - long gone -- we had under the stadium seats delicious burgers etc. cooked on charcoal - tasty - also 86. Food we do have is overpriced and options limited - dogs, pizza, pretzels and popcorn. I bring my own lunch and it is always delicious.

As for parking I don't see what folks expect in Manhattan - no one can find a place to park. However, if you drive around Inwood you are bound to find a place near the stadium anyway. Placement of the hospital is a done deal -- so long ago - give it up; lack of parking also due to womans teams fields right but don't blame the ladies for that?

I'm more impressed that we seem to have a youthful and driven new coach who so far is overexceeding expectations; a great QB from Texas who looks like a matinee idol and he has a hot mom (sorry PC folk) - we beat the Tigers for gawd's sake - that is like finding several parking places right in front of the game x ten.

Is taking the subway to the game really that unpleasant?

In the era of "The French Connection" and "The Taking of Pelham 123" I remember seeing tennis great Stan Smith (1972/1973?) moving with the crowd back to the IRT stop at 215th street after the Princeton game. I was impressed, but as a Frosh, or even a Soph, still didn't know much better. Of course, celebrities take the subway! He seemed a genial presence, definitely a head above the crowd, wispy blonde hair, droopy mustache. He must have been accompanying his future wife, Princeton women's tennis captain, Marjory Gengler.

I consider myself pretty knowledgeable about Ivy sports history. She sounds very accomplished.

And "The Taking of Pelham 123" was an excellent and very underrated film.

That such a devoted follower of Princeton athletics has not heard of Ms. Gengler.

But I’m sure An Observer knows about her one way or another.

He seems to know all the women.

I was in one class with her. Beautiful and smart. Clearly out of my league!

Her two younger sisters also played at PU and were equally talented and accomplished, not to mention fetching. Louise was a 3-sport athlete, winner of the von Kienbusch Award as the school's top senior woman athlete, and varsity tennis coach for 25 (?) years. Nancy was individual collegiate squash champion as a sophomore (having learned the game when she started college) and is in College Squash Association Hall of Fame.

I'll be **shocked** if AO does not know of the Gengler sisters.

THAT’S 100% CORRECT! WHOLEHEARTEDLY AGREE!
Sovern deserves a SRIH (I’ll let you decode this) for his pathetic and short-sightedly asinine decision to give up uber-valuable Baker Field real estate for no long-term justification. Head-snappingly moronic. We should revoke his degrees for his traitorous action.
