In reply to: Boston Lion 's message, "Columbia Leading Wagner" on 13:01:26 10/12/24 Sat

We apparently went to sleep on offense for the last 42 minutes and basically did nothing after jumping upon 24-0. Final score 24-6. It looked to me as if we started running out the clock by the second quarter. Hopefully we’ll wake up in time for Penn. On defense we started playing very soft, certainly by the 3rd quarter.

I watched it streaming on NECN Front Row. Horrible camera work. The long downfield throws were entirely missed by the camera. What I did see in those situations looked like tight coverage on our receivers, and most of the passes sailing way over the intended mark. To be sure, the first Q was an absolute clinic, and I began to think they ought to be putting the 2nd and 3rd string guys in for reps. I don't know the team well enough, but I hope that was the case and explanation for the apparent let-down. The 1st Q view said this could become 72-6, but hey, that's why they play the game! And in the end it is a win.

Let's hope they are ready for Penn.

Go Lions!

agree with other posters in that we looked to be headed for a blowout win - then we lost momentum - but good road victory. I like our chances vs Penn next week. I think we played 3 different QBs

from my limited visit i thought Wagner was a great campus and grand view from the top of the stands of the Verrazano bridge. They have the same setup as Fordham football with a huge metal stand on one side. It's funny that you are in NYC yet on three sides there are huge trees like the north woods - concessions had great and varied food options - I had the BBQ chicken sandwich big portion low price
