In reply to: The Mountain Lion 's message, "Columbia Leads Penn 17-7 at Haltime in Philly" on 14:43:56 10/19/24 Sat

Another jinx (cant beat Penn in Philly) goes down the toilet. This was supposed to be a battle of two excellent running teams but they passed for a combined 550 yds vs 200 rushing. Sophomore Chase Goodwin is the real deal.

This was my first trip to Franklin Field ever, and I have been a Lion for over 60 years. It was well worth it. I thought that we played well against a good team, and that Chase Goodwin is the real deal. Take away the 3 drops and he would have been off the charts in completion percentage. In all fairness, as much as I love this staff, I counted at least three potentially costly coaching calls which could have cost us: not taking the easy FG and going for it on 4th and short within the 5, and coming up short; and of course the failed onsides kick when we were up 14 and getting greedy. One final note: despite his one drop, Canty really can’t be guarded one on one.

This is the kind of inside information that I will apply to my Fan Duel account. Old Lion, please keep us apprised of your future spectating plans. And, not least, congratulations on the Lions' fine start. Given the history, you Columbia fans have been about as loyal as any fan base I can think of. Enjoy the ride, baby.

Anything other than driving—traffic in and around FF was awful.
