The blocked punt really hurt Brown.

Penn ‘s special teams have been really good this year which is somewhat unusual. Can’t say the same about either the offense or the defense.

GBI, I agree that the defense was very bad today after a good first quarter and a half or so. Penn hadn't scored 30 in an Ivy game this year; it scored 38 by early in the 4th quarter today. Losing Isaiah Reed really hurt the defense, and the offense's inability to generate much in the first 45 minutes or so hurt the defense as well, but these explanations only go so far. Cornell, Penn, and Princeton have put up huge Ivy games against Brown's D -- far better than those teams do on average.

On the plus side, the offensive line has been better this year than in the past, some of the receivers have stepped up (though none are Walker or Rocket), and the frosh rb is quite good. However, we have had a lead for less than 30 seconds in a total of 4 Ivy games.

I don't know what the answers are. We are certainly in a better place than when Perry started, but this season has not been a step forward even with a roster dominated by seniors and 5th years. That being said, I don't see that the HC's job is in any jeopardy given the overall improvement over the last five years. Whether he can take the next step forward remains to be seen, but it would be really helpful to win at least one of the last three games.
