After graduating from Andover, I chose to matriculate at Columbia over Yale. As you know, Columbia was last the Ivy Football Champion (I think Harvard was co-champ) in 1961. I entered Columbia College in the fall of 1962. That was 62 YEARS ago. I'm 80 now. I endured Columbia's 44 game losing streak. I served on the Board of Directors of the Columbia College Alumni Association for six years (1990-1996). I love Columbia, the best university in the world. I send my heartfelt congratulations to all Columbians, especially, of course, to all those associated with Columbia Football. Head Coach Poppe and all of his players did the unbelievable: they went last to first in one year! Has any other Ivy Football done that? I don't think so. In his post game comments Jon Poppe said that based upon his week in and week out contributions senior safety Hayden McDonald should be DPOY. We really missed Justin Townsend when he went down against Princeton but Stoivall came up with schemes to account for his absence, such as 2 and 3 man fronts. [ Post a Reply to This Message ]
