Big wrestling commitment for Cornell.

After being committed to the University of Michigan since November 2023; consensus top-15 national 2025 Big Boarder (#10 by MatScouts; #12 by FloWrestling), 𝑱𝒖𝒅𝒆 𝑪𝒐𝒓𝒓𝒆𝒂, re-opened his recruitment recently...
And on Saturday afternoon; he decided that it is much cooler to be a Redman than to be a Wolverine!!!
Following the conclusion of his three-peat at the Powerade; the unanimous #1 215-pounder in the land announced his intentions to compete collegiately on behalf of 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲!!
Unbeaten since his freshman season and surpassing the 100-career victory milestone this weekend per the PA-Wrestling database; the New Hampshire resident is likely the most high profile big man prospect to EVER land on the Ithaca, NY based campus...
And that is saying a lot considering that in the past 15 years, the Big Red has celebrated the likes of:
*𝐆𝐚𝐛𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐚𝐧 (4x NCAA AA/3x National finalist/2x Champion)
*𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐯𝐞 𝐁𝐨𝐬𝐚𝐤 (3x NCAA All-American/2012 National Champion),
*𝐂𝐚𝐦 𝐒𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐳 (4x NCAA All-American/2012 National Champion)
*𝐌𝐚𝐱 𝐃𝐞𝐚𝐧 (4x NCAA AA/2x National finalist/2022 National Champion between stops at Cornell and Penn State)
*𝐉𝐚𝐜𝐨𝐛 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐚𝐬 (2x NCAA AA; multiple-time UWW Age-group medalist/finalist)
Simply put, the newest addition to the incoming 2025 haul has been a winner on every stage he has ever stepped on!!!
His up-to-date resume features the such bullet points as:
*3x Defending Prep National Champion
*4x Powerade Finalist/3x Champion
*3x Ironman Placer/2x Champion
*2022 Beast of the East titlist
*2x Super 32 placer/2022 belt winner
*2022 NHSCA National Champion
*2021 USAW 16U Folk National Champion

Cornell has been a top wrestling school for at least 25 years. They have consistently recruited top talent. Last year they brought in Meyer Shapiro who was the number one recruit in the nation. What is so special about bringing in a top recruit big man? All weight classes in college are scored the same so someone at 125 can be just as important to the team as someone at 285.

It's more difficult to find the best recruits in the higher weight classes.
