Subject: Do any of these kids attend classes, actually learn something?

When I graduated from Cornell, I had three job offers from large companies. I spent three years with the first company and one with the second primarily in a sales roll. Despite a great education at Cornell, I quickly learned I didn't know that much. Then I got an MBA and have been in the financial service industry ever since. Again even with an MBA, it took me a few years until I actually began to know what I was doing. Meanwhile, watching all this college football, eligibility, and the transfer portal are any of these kids qualified to do anything if they don't make an NFL roster? What happens after their college football eligibility runs out? Even if they sign an NIL deal, what happens when they can no longer play their sport?

I say this because thanks to my parents, I was pretty much focused on academics growing up and through college. Yes I also played football but was not very talented. Despite a great education it's been a lot of hard work to build a good career and make a decent living. However, I would be very reluctant to hire any student-athlete if they didn't take their academics seriously. It's just really tough sledding if you go to college for four to five years, and come out unqualified for much of anything.
